“I have deep respect for those who seek change and those affected by external circumstances beyond their control. Regardless of the initiating forces, real change—the kind that requires transformation—is not easy for anyone. It is an honor to support my clients in this type of one-on-one setting, which requires trust, skill, compassion, and clarity to embrace change as a developmental opportunity and step into the future they most want.”

What to Expect

As a change leader, you’re on a distinct development path, just like the teams, organizations or communities you support.

Following the SITA Workshop, you’ll clearly understand your challenges and the key competencies you wish to develop. These may encompass growing your conceptual know-how, remaining emotionally fluid, expanding your ability to access inner and outer resources for yourself or on behalf of the group you are working with and staying grounded in times of turbulence.

Our initial session will begin with clarifying your coaching goals before we jump right in. Each subsequent session will focus on achieving these goals while addressing your emerging needs and interests. Expect some homework between sessions to maximize our time together.

About Gisela

As an internal change leader, an external consultant and now the CEO of The Grove Consultants International, I have designed and led change initiatives across all scales for more than 30 years and advised leaders from middle management to C-Suite. I have also directed a wide array of professional development initiatives focused on change leadership, from three-day workshops to two-year degree programs.

My approach is influenced by pioneers in humanistic and transpersonal psychology, organizational development, family and systems constellations, and, more recently, by individual, intergenerational and collective trauma.

My doctoral work in human and organizational development and my subsequent research have focused on the underlying patterns of change and renewal, pivotal turning points of rites of passage, and evolving conventional approaches to change work to be more holistic, transformational and human-centered. Currently, I am reimmersing myself in C.G. Jung’s enduring work on the limiting ego structures that prevent us from accessing our innate potential.

I was born and raised in Germany, have lived on three continents, and have intentionally sought out Indigenous Peoples to experience their timeless wisdom. I reside near San Francisco with my husband, David Sibbet.

About Liminal Pathways

For the past 20 years, I have developed a successful methodology and framework for working with transformational change, which is now central to The Grove’s change methodology.

In 2018, David Sibbet and I published Visual Consulting: Designing and Leading Change. This book outlines The Grove’s practical approach for our organizational-change work, integrating my Liminal Pathways Change Framework™ with the Theory of Process that underpins all of The Grove’s methods into the Seven Challenges of Change™ model.

In 2023, I published The Liminal Pathways Study, which highlights the efficacy and benefits of the framework and examines how change agents have applied it across a wide range of personal, professional, and organizational contexts. The ideas and insights presented provide a much-needed understanding of what truly occurs during change.

A deeper appreciation of the true challenge of engaging with the unknown—the liminal phase between what has been and what will be—has led me to develop what is now called The Change Maker’s Spindle, a change competency model and assessment tool. All of these can serve as additional resources for your growth as a transformational change agent.
